KARACHI, Oct 23: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has said that Master Plan-2020, being a very important document for the future of the city, should not be prepared in haste rather steps be taken for making it a consolidated document.

Presiding over a meeting to review Master Plan on Saturday, he observed that facilities provided to Karachiites lack planning and, hence, Master Plan should not be prepared without the participation of all the stakeholders including concerned organizations, community representatives and planning experts.

Mr Kamal emphasized that the Master Plan should be prepared on scientific principles. In this regard, the meeting decided to set up a review committee with representatives of utility organizations like PTCL, KESC, SSGC and others

It was decided that the Master Plan department, the KBCA and consultants concerned would review the plan and elicit formal opinion of concerned institutions and people.

Among others, the meeting was attended by DCO Fazlur Rehman, EDO Master Plan and other senior officials. —APP
