HYDERABAD, Jan 22: Balochistan finally won their first match in the Quaid Trophy when they defeated Hyderabad by 24 runs at Niaz Stadium.

The visitors were dismissed for 207 after resuming their second innings at 179 for seven on penultimate day of the match Tuesday.

Hyderabad then made a mess of an easy target and were bowled out 157 in their second innings with Rizwan Ahmed hitting 69.

Pacers Waqas Chughtai and Faisal Irfan claimed four for 57 and three for 51 respectively. Waqas finished with a match haul of 11 for 132.

Balochistan’s victory earns them nine points to lift their tally to 12 points.

Their three first matches against Rest of Sindh, Karachi Blues and Karachi Whites ended in draws.

Balochistan next play Bahawalpur at the Bahawalpur Stadium. The four-day game begins Saturday.
