Sindh has reported 2.136 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, a significant jump from yesterday's 1,248, and marking the second time the province has recorded more than 2,000 daily infections since November last year. On May 19, Sindh had reported 2,076 cases.

The provincial tally of cases has reached 306,690, while the death toll has risen to 4,891 after 22 more people succumbed to the virus, according to a statement from Chief Minister House.

In the same 24-hour period, 979 people recovered from Covid-19, while 24,299 tests were conducted.
