Every second shopkeeper overcharging

LAHORE, Oct 22: Every second shopkeeper checked by the town municipal administrations on Saturday for monitoring of prices of essential commodities was found overcharging.

The TMAs imposed fines totalling Rs82,250 on 73 shopkeepers for overcharging and failure to display the price lists. FIRs were also lodged against another 31.

The traders were fined and cases instituted against them during the checking of prices in Model Town, Green Town, Township, Multan Road, Garden Town, Mustafabad, Mughalpura, Manawan, Kot Lakhpat, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Shadbagh, Allama Iqbal Town, Islampura, Sanda, Shahdra, Misri Shah, Tajpura and R.A.Bazar.
