KARACHI, Oct 22: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has said that the city government is committed to serve the people of all towns without any discrimination.

Talking to the nazims of Gadap, Bin Qasim, Lyari and Keamari towns at his office on Saturday, he said that the city government wanted to improve the city conditions and there was need for joint efforts by city government and towns for improvement in water supply and sewerage, traffic, health and education facilities.

“We want to change cleanliness system to make Karachi a clean city in a real sense. But it will be possible when garbage-lifting and sweeping system is completely changed,” he said.

In this regard, he said, a comprehensive plan was being chalked out, which would be finalized after consultation with all towns. He assured them that the city government would complete all the ongoing projects in coordination with concerned towns. He told them that town nazims would be involved in the decisions taken by the city government.

The city nazim declared that he would work for a better Karachi by remaining above town boundaries.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal directed the officials of the city government and town administrations to ensure cleanliness in surrounding areas of Imambargahs and along the route of Yaum-i-Ali procession.

He said that there should be no hindrance in the path of the procession. He appealed to ulema of different schools of thought to help maintain the spirit of unity and brotherhood as well as sectarian harmony on the occasion.

KBCA: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal called for streamlining the administrative structure of Karachi Building Control Authority to check irregular and illegal construction in the city.
