“Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies will do whatever it takes till the job is fully accomplished,” the army chief said on Friday while visiting the troops deployed on the western border at Timergara in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations news release, Gen Bajwa was briefed on the security situation and measures being undertaken to ensure effective management of Pakistan-Afghanistan international border.

While interacting with the troops, the army chief appreciated their vigilance, preparedness and high state of morale.

He paid rich tribute to martyrs who rendered supreme sacrifices for the defence of the country.

He also lauded the troops for their contribution in aid of civil administration to control the Covid-19 pandemic and ordered strict adherence to SOPs and precautions in this regard.

Earlier, Corps Commander Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood welcomed the army chief on his arrival.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said the army chief spent the first day of Eid with troops along the Line of Control.

The rest of the army leadership was also present with their troops, the minister said in a tweet on Friday.

From soldiers to generals in the army, these young men are brought up like one family, he said. They stay awake in the night so that people could have a sound sleep and the nation is proud of them, he added.
