Murder case 2 months after incident

SAHIWAL, Oct 21: Chichawatni Saddar police registered on Thursday a murder case against a woman, her son and two brothers 58 days after the incident. Police registered the case on the orders of additional district and sessions judge.

Muhammad Husain Ansari, the brother of deceased Rashid of Hayatabad, Chichawatni, filed a writ petition when police did not entertain his complaint.

Ansari told the court that Rashid had contracted love marriage with Nusrat 14 years ago. The couple had a son Fahim.

Nusrat had been asking Rashid to transfer his property in the name of their son for quite some time. But Rashid did not agree to her proposal.

Nusrat, with the help of Fahim and brothers Azhar Iqbal and Altaf, killed Rashid in Chak 41/12-L on Aug 22 and threw the body in canal. The body had torture marks on it.

No arrest has so far been made.

ROBBERIES: Robbers in three strikes took away cash and motorcycles on Thursday.

Farmer Ejaz Ahmad was deprived of his motorcycle (SIN-3588) near Rati Tibbi village on Noorshah-Sahiwal road at gunpoint. The robbers sped away firing shots in the air.

Three robbers took away Rs12,931 in cash from Rustam Ali, a salesman of Lakson Tobacco Company, and drove away with his motorcycle (LOI-7092) near Chak 82/5-L.

PTCL lineman Shaukat Ali was deprived of Rs8,000 in cash and his bicycle when he was returning home after performing his duty at telephone exchange in Chak 60/5-L.

Police claimed that the men who robbed Shaukat has been arrested.
