SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 21: The maiden orders passed by District Nazim Sahibzada Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri on Friday were declared null and void by DCO Zafar Iqbal Sheikh. The district nazim, after taking the charge of his office on the very first day, passed the transfer orders of EDO (Works) Sajjad Husain on the charge of corruption.

The DCO in his letter to the district nazim informed that he was not a competent authority to post or transfer any official under rules and regulations.

The district nazim has sought a legal opinion in this regard.

AMENITIES: Different city localities, including Ghang Road, Tariq Road, Khalid Road and Jehangirabad, lack basic amenities.

This was stated by a delegation of residents of these localities while talking to newsmen here on Friday.

The residents complained that roads and streets were broken and even drainage, streetlights and water supply facilities not available in their localities.

Delegation head Ghulam Rasool Shahzad said the former tehsil administration did not bother to resolve their problems. He said Main Ghang Road like other roads in the city had become unmotorable.

CASE: Sadar police registered a theft case against three people here on Friday.

Khalid Khan had alleged that Farooq, Nadeem and Umar Hayat had stolen machinery worth millions of rupees from his factory.
