RAWALPINDI: As many as 85 workers of the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) were released from Adiala Jail on Saturday after they were granted bail by a court.

According to sources, the 85 TLP workers arrested on criminal charges had been languishing in the jail.

In Rawalpindi district, 13 FIRs had been registered against TLP workers and activists on various charges ranging from inciting people against the government and violating SOPs against Covid-19.

However, the government had announced to release all those detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance while those arrested on criminal charges would be facing trial.
