RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Mohammad Basharat Raja has said that the guidelines issued by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on the occasion of Eidul Fitr to curb coronavirus will be strictly implemented.

“The subcommittee of Punjab cabinet is reviewing the monitoring and evaluation on a daily basis and the movement of citizens during Eid holidays in the province,” he said in a statement, adding the subcommittee will closely monitor the law and order situation and it will be ensured that citizens during Eid holidays do not go out of the house unnecessarily and do not turn to public and tourist places.

He said Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar is reviewing the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all relevant agencies have been directed to ensure that the restrictions are imposed in letter and spirit.

We have to strictly adhere to the lockdown to protect our lives and the lives of others otherwise police and law enforcement agencies will fulfill their responsibilities, he said, adding Rangers and all law enforcement agencies have been alerted and police checkpoints have been set up at tourist routes.

It is expected that people will behave like responsible citizens abide by the rules to defeat the virus.
