Six more cases of measles were reported in a family in Naudero. They were identified as Hanain, 4; Haseeb, 3; Mahnoor, 2; Shayan, 3; Javeriya, 3, and Faiza Mirani, 2.

Seven fall victim to measles in Jacobabad

SUKKUR: Seven children, suffering from measles, were admitted to Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences hospital, civil hospital and other private medical centres on Saturday.

The children from Jacobabad and Dera Allah Yar, Balochistan, identified as Abdul Mujeeb Khoso, Mohammad Daud Sewani, Zain Golo and others were reportedly in serious condition.

Many children had died of measles in the district but Jacobabad health department had not yet taken the situation seriously and failed to take any action in this regard.

The children’s parents told reporters that they could not afford treatment of their children at private hospitals but they were forced to take their loved ones there because doctors at government hospitals did not show any seriousness in looking after their children.

They demanded Sindh chief minister and provincial health minister take notice of callousness, carelessness and corruption in Jacobabad health department and take action against the ills so that the poor could get quality healthcare facilities at public sector hospitals.
