Jahangir, Islah’s sporting gesture

KARACHI, Oct 19: Two of Pakistan’s finest sportsmen, squash legend Jahangir Khan and hockey Olympian Islahuddin, have donated their precious sporting souvenirs for auction and money raised will be donated for earthquake victims.

Ten times British Open champion, Jahangir, has given one of his British Open trophies as well as a racquet. Islahuddin has decided to part his gold crown which was presented to him by the Karachiites after Pakistan team won the World Cup at Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 1978 under his leadership.

The souvenirs will be put on auction by a private TV channel.—Agencies
