ISLAMABAD: Planning Minister Asad Umar on Friday performed groundbreaking of a community health centre and an 8-kilometre long road in his constituency NA-54.

Groundbreaking of the community health centre was performed in Mahra, G-13. Mr Umar said looking after the health of people in his constituency is his top priority.

He said that he will personally supervise the said project worth Rs70 million to ensure its timely completion, adding that this centre will cater to the needs of people of the area.

The minister also laid foundation stone of the 8-km road, worth Rs130 million. Once constructed, this road will provide relief to 200,000 people. Locals of the area appreciated the minister for initiating both projects.

Talking to Dawn, PTI’s Development Convener Jamshed Mughal said that the said health centre will be highly beneficial for people of the area. “It is a 40-bed mini hospital with a special gynae ward,” he said and added that in this fiscal year, four such health centres will be set up in NA-54.
