LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on Thursday termed the five-year Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2020-25 a way forward to revolutionise the automobile sector in Pakistan.
Appreciating the move, LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah in a press release said, the EV policy alone would resolve the issue of high import bill, cost of transportation, drastically rising pollution and various others.”
“An auto revolution is knocking at the door as the government has already approved the EV policy. To achieve the desired goals, its implementation in true sense of words is a must,” Mr Misbah said.
Under the EV policy, a target has been set to have a 30 per cent and 90pc share in passenger vehicles and heavy duty trucks by 2030 and 2040, respectively.
