LAHORE: The anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) in Lahore have been closed for 10 days after its administrative judge, Arshad Hussain Bhutta, and other staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

A notice pasted at the main gate of the premises reads that the anti-terrorism courts would remain closed till April 23 due to spread of coronavirus among the judge and other staff of the courts.

In the meantime, all the proceedings relating to physical and judicial remand would be held before Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain as a duty judge.

Presiding Judge of the Special Court (Central-I) Ijaz Hassan Awan also contracted Covid-19 and he quarantined himself at home for two weeks. The judge informed the ministry of law about his health in writing.
