CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Saturday said the opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement is intact and nobody can disintegrate it.

He told a news conference here that the opposition parties should strengthen themselves to oust the PTI government, whose policies had made the people’s life miserable.

The QWP chief said the PDM member parties were fully united to send the current ‘incompetent and selected’ government packing.

He said the PTI government was undermining democratic values.

Aftab Sherpao said the opposition should exert more pressure on the government to send it packing. He said the government was causing harm to the federation and the constitution.

The QWP leader said the government had handed over the State Bank of Pakistan to the International Monetary Fund.

He said the rising inflation and unemployment rates had caused despair and unrest among the people, who wanted to an early ouster of the ‘selected and incompetent’ government.

“The rulers have failed to take any step to provide relief to the people in the coming Ramazan. The rising prices of essential commodities have made the people’s life miserable but the PTI government is least bothered about the provision of any relief to them,” he said.

Mr Sherpao said the government’s failure to announce the National Finance Commission Award spoke volumes about its poor performance.

He said the centre was meting out injustice to the provinces.

“The PTI-led federal government has failed to safeguard the interests of smaller provinces,” he said.

QWP provincial chief Sikandar Kahn Sherpao, former district nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan and party leaders Hamza Naseer Khan and Zahir Shah also spoke on the occasion.

Local political leader Siyar Mohammad Khan and former district nazim from Jamaat-i-Islami Naveed Habibzai announced the joining of the QWP along with supporters.
