No play on day two

Published October 18, 2005

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17: For the second day running there was no play in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match between Islamabad and Abbottabad at the Diamond Cricket Ground.

Rains over the past two days left the square and the bowlers’ run-up wet and umpires Mian Aslam and Ahmed Shahab ruled that there would be no play.

However, there is now a good chance for play to finally get under way after lunch on the third day on Tuesday.

The match marks two firsts with Abbottabad making their first-class debut as a separate region and the Diamond Ground staging its maiden first-class fixture.
