Arms smugglers held

PESHAWAR, Oct 17: The city police arrested two armed smugglers after shoot-out and also defused a home-made bomb in a separate incident in the suburb of the city on Monday, said a press release.

The police on a tip-off about the smuggling of arms and ammunition from Dara Adamkhel arrested both the smugglers who were identified as Imdad, son of Haji Shahbaz and Iftikhar, son of Gulshan. The Police claimed that both of them were notorious in armed smuggling from Dara Adamkhel to the rest of the country.

During search, the police recovered two pump action repeater guns, three pistols, one Kalashnikov and 22 cartridges of different bore weapons concealed in the secret cavities of the car. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
