LAHORE, Oct 17: The Pakistan Communication Industries, a subsidiary of the Telecom Foundation, on Monday exported another consignment of multi-featured modern digital telephone sets of international standards to Norway.

PCI chief executive Muhammad Arif Khan told APP here that the company was producing diverse telephone products compatible with the telecommunication needs of different countries, including Pakistan.

“We have already shipped a consignment to Norway while efforts are under way to explore new international markets. We have imported the necessary spare parts from China,” he said, adding that the PCI had developed its own design of phone sets with lifetime warrantee.

“The PCI has successfully developed steno telephone sets, digital cordless telephone sets and mini-digital exchanges with caller line identification (CLI),” he observed. It has also provided 162,500 new telephone sets to Pakistan Telecommunication Company and has the potential to manufacture and assemble over a million telephone sets in a year.—APP
