RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Tuesday sealed six under-construction apartments of Elite Reverie Housing Scheme (Eighteen Islamabad).

The apartments were being constructed in violation of approved layout plan.

RDA is conducting mega operations against violations, illegal construction and land mafia in the city.

The RDA spokesman said Building Control Wing has been actively conducting operations against illegal commercial cum residential constructions including plazas, shops, schools and other illegal land use within the controlled area of RDA in Rawalpindi.

He said the owners of the properties were constructing illegal residential buildings without approval of map in violation of Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020.

He said the RDA DG had directed the building control wing to take strict action against encroachments, illegal and unauthorised constructions and commercial activities without any fear and favour. He said the citizens should also show moral responsibility and remove every type of encroachment as much as they can, so that they could avoid any further loss.

He said the owners of the properties had carried out development work in different areas illegally, without approval of layout plan from the authority.
