Karo-kari: man and woman killed

KHAIRPUR, Oct 16: A man and a woman were killed on the pretext of karo-kari in the Arbab Shaikh village, Gambat taluka, on Saturday evening. Sadaruddin gunned down his wife Yasmin and Mohammad Ali Shaikh.

The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem at the taluka hospital of Gambat.

Complainant Jewan Sheikh, father of Yasmin, lodged an FIR with the Sadiq Kalhoro police against Sadaruddin Shaikh on Sunday.

KILLING: A woman was killed in an armed attack on late Saturday evening in the Jalalani deh, Kotdiji taluka, over a land dispute.

Mai Gori, 65, was working in fields with her sons when some armed men attacked them.

Allah Rakhio Talpur, son of the deceased, registered a case with the Kotdiji police against 13 persons of the Talpur caste including Qadir Bux, Noor Mohammad, Gul Mohammad, Subhan Ali, Ali Nawaz, Najaf, Nisar, Mohammad Nawaz, Amanat, Gada Hussain, Manzoor and others.

BOOKED: Five people including two women were booked at the Ahmedpur police station on Sunday in a murder case.

Mohammad Fazal Khawaja, a resident of the Khawaja village, registered an FIR against Zeena Khawaja, Hakim Zadi, Aashiq Ali, Lal Bux and Ihsan.

It was alleged in the FIR that complainant’s cousin Mehrab Ali Khawaja, the husband of Zeena, was missing for some time. Later it was found that Zeena had killed him with the help of Aashiq Ali.
