KARACHI: PPP sends more relief goods

KARACHI, Oct 16: The Pakistan People’s Party has said its NWFP chapter on Sunday dispatched nine truck-loads of relief goods to the earthquake-stricken areas of Garhi Habibullah, Balakot, Batagram and Muzaffarabad.

The relief goods were collected and sent from relief camps in Mardan, Swat, Swabi, Malakand, Nowshera, Peshawar and Charsadda, a press release issued here on Sunday said.

The PPP’s Upper Malakand set up has sent two truck-loads of relief goods to Shanglapar in Swat region where over 500 people had perished in the quake. The party’s Charsadda set up also dispatched two truck-loads of relief goods to Shanglapar.

Until Friday, the PPP had already dispatched a total of 104 truck-loads of relief goods to the NWFP and Azad Kashmir. The central secretariat of the party in Islamabad has been coordinating the relief efforts.—PPI
