LAKKI MARWAT: The district price review committee in its meeting here has fixed prices of edible items and asked the traders to follow the official rate list.
Assistant commissioner Umer Bin Riaz chaired the meeting held in the district headquarters complex, Tajazai, the other day. District food controller Aman Khan, relevant officials and representatives of traders union were in attendance.
After discussion, the committee fixed the prices of edible items. It rejected proposals of traders’ representatives for increasing prices and maintained the existing rates of several commodities.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Riaz said that the district administration would also ensure provision of essential commodities to the people on controlled rates during Ramazan.
He said that inspection teams would visit bazaars in Lakki and other towns regularly to ensure implementation of the official price list by shopkeepers.
He asked the traders to avoid hoarding and ensure provision of essential food commodities to the citizens.
He said that violators of the official price list and Covid-19 SOPs would face action.
PAKISTAN DAY: The local chapter of Boy Scouts Association held functions in government schools in Lakki city on Tuesday to mark the Pakistan Day with national zeal.
In this regard, Government Shaheed Mohammad Ghassan Khan Centennial Model High School principal Khalilur Rehman presided over a function in Lakki city where students and scouts sang patriotic songs.
On this occasion, the speakers called for forging unity and launching concerted efforts to make the country strong and prosperous.
In Tajazai, students sang national songs and delivered speeches during a function at the local government higher secondary school.
