KARACHI: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has completed wheat operations 2020 by importing 1.7 million tonnes of the grain through 30 bulk vessels.
The last ship, Emmakris-III, carrying 57,530 tonnes was berthed on Monday at FAP Terminal at Port Qasim.
The imported wheat was lifted by the provincial governments and the Pakistan Storage and Supply Corporation (Passco) directly from the port.
According to TCP’s press release, the Punjab government has lifted bulk import of 1.204m tonnes followed by 444,400 tonnes by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 117,750 tonnes by the Sindh government whereas 114,931 tonnes would stand lifted by Passco after completion of unloading by Emmakris-III.
