TAXILA: Punjab Prisons Minister Fayaz ul Hassan Chohan said that the provincial government has allocated a Rs7 billion Ramazan relief package for people.
He was talking to journalists during his visit to Jand and Fatehjang tehsils of Attock on Sunday.
He said 313 Ramazan bazaars will be established across the province where a 10kg flour bag will be available at Rs300.
“The Punjab government will provide around Rs3.5bn subsidy for the purpose,” he said, adding to improve the service delivery of provincial departments, review performance of government departments and provide relief to masses, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had assigned different districts to various ministers and he was assigned district Attock.
He said he would visit every town of the district to monitor performance of various departments of the provincial government, especially the revenue department, police and municipal administration.
With public feedback, performance of various government departments will be reviewed and improved, he said, adding Ramazan bazaars will be established across the district where provision of basic commodities like sugar and flour would also be ensured.
Later, Mr Chohan visited the under construction trauma centre in Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital Jand and reviewed work on construction.
He directed the authorities concerned to ensure that work is completed as per the scheduled time.
