Naib nazim elected unanimously

Published October 16, 2005

KOHAT, Oct 15: Thirty nazims of various union councils selected their unanimous candidate for the post of district naib nazim through a draw held on Saturday. The draw was held after a meeting of nazims and councillors, who had jointly voted for the district nazim, held at the residence of Seth Noor Moahmmad failed to agree on a single name through mutual understanding. During the discussions, about a dozen nazims expressed their desire to become naib nazim and tried to convince the members of the meeting in their favour.

Finally, Seth Noor Mohammad, nazim of union council Mohammadzai and brother of the district nazim-elect suggested that the issue should be resolved through holding a draw which was accepted by all the attendants.

The draw was conducted by lady councillor Badshah Meera according to whom the nazim of union council Nasrat Khel, Arif advocate was declared the lucky candidate.

At the time of the draw Arif advocate was not present and many UC nazims had objected against inclusion of his name in the draw.
