Three robbers killed

KARACHI, Oct 15: Three suspected robbers, who had allegedly snatched a Chinese diplomat’s car at gunpoint, were gunned down in Clifton on Saturday night during a shootout with police.

Clifton town police officer Imran Shaukat said that a car of Chinese diplomat had been snatched at gunpoint near the Village Restaurant. On being alerted, police went in hot pursuit to catch the culprits.

The suspects abandoned the car and took positions on a hilly patch. A shootout ensued which ended in the death of all three.

Three TT pistols and the car were recovered from suspects. Cash and jewellery snatched from SI Imran and his wife at the Sea View area were also recovered. The couple had come to the beach to have fun.
