PESHAWAR, Oct 15: Two advanced support cells have been established at Shangla and Mansehra to ensure quick distribution of relief goods, Fata Secretary told Governor Khalilur Rehman on Saturday at a briefing.
The governor was on a visit to the governor relief cell established at the Governor’s Secretariat, Fata, to receive donations and relief goods from tribesmen and to transport it to the affected areas of the NWFP and Azad Kashmir.
Fata Secretary Arbab Mohammad Shahzad briefed the governor on the up-to-date performance of the cell.
The governor was informed that over five days, 60 vehicles loaded with relief goods had been received from different tribal agencies and dispatched to Mansehra, Shangla, Allai, Bisham and Rawlakot.
Nine trucks are in the pipeline and five truckloads of relief goods received from the individual donors and organizations are in the stock.
The Fata secretary said that so far over 217,000kg flour, 10,450 kg ghee, 1,708 bed sheets and quilts, 34,600kg sugar, 31,150kg rice, 17,300kg pulses, 450 cartons of biscuits, 1,628 blankets, 1,314 tents, 48,400 metre shroud, 450 cartons of medicines and other items of daily use had been sent for distribution among the quake victims.
Individual donors contributed over Rs7.6 million in the Governor’s Relief Fund for the quake victims.
