LAHORE: The first official meeting of the Board of Management (BoM) of the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) on Tuesday unanimously elected Prof Dr Anjum Habib Vohra as its first board chairman.

Former principal of the Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Prof Vohra, a renowned neurosurgeon, had retired in BS-21.

In his address on the occasion, PINS Executive Director Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood lauded Prof Vohara’s services in the field of neurosurgery and his extensive experience, hoping that with his election as BoM head the treatment standards at the institute would further improve.

Prof Vohra vowed to come up to the expectations of the Punjab government, the public and the board members with regard to improving the PINS’ performance.

He expressed the hope that with the cooperation of BoM members, PINS would be globally recognised among the top institutes of neurosciences.
