KARACHI, Oct 15: Seven vessels carrying soyabean oil, chemicals and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, Shalamar, Chem Bothnia, to unload oils, Sagamore and T.M.M. Hidalgo, to unload and load containers, Maersk Taiki, to unload cars, and African Star, to load rice, were berthed.

Sailing was also active as eight ships departed. They are: Tai He, Y.M. Faha, Sagamore, Majori, Alam Selaras, Gant Star, African Orxy and Tong Hai, while Maersk Taiki, You Mei, T.M.M. Hidalgo, Shamrock Moon, Shalamar, Blue Star and Sea Beta are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves maintained at the higher level owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage, totalling 0.103m tons. The export tonnage of 13,249 tons comprised 5,000 tons of molasses and 979 tons of cement and import cargo rose to 89,536 tons, which also included 4,262 tons of sugar.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Lauren, Al-Marwah, with chemicals, Ocean Grace, with 5,000 tons of soyabean oil, PONL Mahe, Iran BaabAei, Pu He, and Nefeli-1, with containers.

The following ships are due on Monday: Swat, with 65,000 tons of crude oil, Pacific Sound, with 3,000 tons of palm oil, Astor, H.S. Discoverer, with containers.
