SAHIWAL: The Fateh Sher police claim to have killed a gunman in an encounter near village 51/5-R late on Thursday.

The police said two accomplices of the deceased fled in the dark.

The three robbers snatched the motorcycle of a citizen at Bhutto Nagar and fled to Lower Bari Doab Canal. The police on being alerted chased them and near village 51/5-R, both sides exchanged fire. The encounter left Muhammad Yaar killed.

The police claimed the deceased was involved in many cases.

The body was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.
