PESHAWAR: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in collaboration with partner organisations will establish “Valence Centre” to train its faculty members and students to connect with doctors through internet and launch an awareness programme for marketing initiatives.

A press release issued here on Thursday said that the university signed two memoranda of understanding, including one with Sehat Kahani, an NGO, under which “Valence Center’ would be established. The signing ceremonies took place at a function held to observe International Women’s Day, it said.

Another MoU was signed with ‘Demo and Tech Valley’ under which, 7000 women in seven divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be trained on digital skills.

Dr Shaheen Sardar Ali, the rector of National Academy of Higher Education, said that women’s day was a day of honour and not of discrimination. There are few values in the world that are universal, in every religion and in every country, they are of justice.

A society that does not work with equality and justice is not successful and cannot move forward. She enlightened the audience about the objectives about the National Academy of Higher Education and offered all possible support for the university.

On the occasion, Dr Razia Sultana, the vice-chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, said that the mission of the university was to empower women. She said that women’s education provided training to the entire society. The university provides all possible opportunities to women for success and development.

She said every third faculty member of the university was PhD and more were in the process of perusing PhD degrees in their relevant fields. She said that Covid-19 adversely affected the entire world, especially education sector, where all the universities had physical mode of teaching.
