KARACHI, Oct 14: The traffic police had finalized its plan to raise the number of hidden traffic cameras in Karachi from 17 to 100. A spokesman for the traffic department in this regard said on Thursday that locations had already been identified for installing of the new close-circuit hidden traffic cameras.

He said that due to the effectiveness of these spy cameras, the decision was taken to install more of them in the city to further improve traffic discipline on the main thoroughfares.

The spokesman said that besides helping in quick action against violators of traffic rules, these cameras were greatly helpful in ensuring smooth flow of vehicular traffic. He said that complaints regarding traffic problems should be lodged through the traffic helpline number 915 or at the traffic control centre on telephone number 021-9211313.

He further told that DIG Traffic Capital City Police Karachi Captain (retd) Falak Khursheed had issued instructions to all SSPs Traffic Zones to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city during the holy month of Ramazan.—PPI
