ISLAMABAD, Oct 14: All the eight exporters have decided to challenge the European Union’s anti-dumping duty on bedlinen in the Luxembourg Court.

This was stated by Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan in a meeting with European Commission’s trade commissioner Peter Mandelson in Geneva.

According to an official announcement issued here on Friday, the commerce minister expressed his dissatisfaction at the outcome of the review petition filed by the government of Pakistan against the imposition of anti-dumping duty on Pakistani bedlinen by the EC.

The minister conveyed to the trade commissioner the reaction of the textile industry of Pakistan at the decision on dumping margins announced by the EC and highlighted the fact that all the eight sample companies were challenging the anti-dumping duty in the Luxembourg Court.

Mr Khan said that the determination of dumping margins by the EC was based on erroneous calculation of normal value.

Mr Mandelson assured the commerce minister that he would look into the matter prior to the imposition of final dumping duty on Pakistani bedlinen.
