KARACHI, Oct 13: Three more earthquake victims evacuated from Azad Kashmir and Balakot, have been brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi and the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

The CHK Medical Superintendent, Dr Kaleem Butt, said that the woman, Khushhala, 28, was admitted to the hospital on late Wednesday night due to clavicle (Collar bone) fracture. Maintaining that the over all health of the woman was good, he said that in normal cases patients like her, were discharged from the OPD after necessary treatment, but we deci ded to admit her since she was affected by quake and needed some succour.

Quoting Khushhala’s brother who accompanied her all the way from a village Malor of Bagh, Dr Butt said that after 48 hours of her recovery from the rubbles of her house, she was taken to PIMS Rawalpindi, along with hundreds of other survivors.

However, feeling that his sister was not getting due attention of doctors at the PIMS due to rush of people with multiple injuries, the brother decided to bring her down to Karachi for treatment, added the MS saying that the woman was staying in the orthopaedic wards of the hospital.

Earlier, three quake victims with crush and multiple injuries from Balakot had been admitted to CHK on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, two more quake victims were admitted to the JPMC, said Deputy Director of the JPMC, Dr Seemi Jamali.

Dr Jamali told Dawn, that Abdullah, 60, came to the JPMC on Thursday from Balakot for the treatment of an arm-bone fracture and was admitted to the orthopaedics department.

He was not accompanied by anyone and the victim travelled all the way from Balakot by road, she added.

Another person, Mohammad Ibrahim, 70, from Azad Kashmir was brought to the JPMC by his relatives on Wednesday for the treatment of rib-fracture and admitted to the thoracic surgery unit, Dr Jamali said.
