HYDERABAD, Oct 13: Police on Thursday arrested two policemen following escape of an under-trial prisoner from the surgical ward of the Civil Hospital Hyderabad.

A case has been lodged against them under sections 223, 224 PPC and 155 of the Police Order 2002 on compliant of in-charge investigation wing, Kot Ghulam Mohammad police, Mohammad Akram.

The prisoner, Naushad, son of Mumtaz Qaimkhani, was admitted at bed-9 in the surgical ward-1 for the last couple of days.

On Wednesday night, he went into lavatory and fled through window of the toilet.

Policemen, Peero Mal, Abdul Farooq, Ali Akbar and Mohammad Ismail were on guard duty outside the ward.

Two of them, head constable Peero Mal and constable Abdul Farooq, have been arrested following registration of a case.
