LAHORE: The ACE has booked two food department officials and the owner of the Pakistan Flour Mills on charges of selling subsidised wheat in open market.

The ACE seized a truck loaded with subsidised wheat to be sold in open market in Lodhran.

“The wheat worth Rs90 million was being transported to be sold in the open market. It was sold to the owners of Pakistan Flour Mills, Dunyapur, for its grinding by the food department and subsequent sale of floor in the open market for the general public on subsidised rates. However, the mill owners were selling it without grinding,” he said.

A case has been registered against District Food Controller Lodhran Asghar, Food Inspector Hanif and mill owner Muhammad Dildar.
