SWABI: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser said on Saturday that Pakistan Democratic Movement had failed to get the masses’ support as its leaders hatched conspiracies against the elected government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

He was addressing a public meeting here at Pabini ground after inaugurating a gas supply project in the area which would cost Rs440 million. It was also attended by minister for elementary and secondary education Shahram Khan Tarakai, CM’s adviser Abdul Karim, MPAs and other leaders of the ruling party.

Mr Qaiser said that those who looted the nation with both hands had now ganged up against the PTI government, but the people knew what they really wanted.

“We will continue to work for the people’s welfare and no one can stop the government from making the country strong and prosperous,” he remarked.

The NA speaker said the PDM leaders’ entire struggle was to save the wealth amassed through illegal means. He said the government had devised a plan to make them accountable to the people of the country.

He said that corrupt leaders could not escape the accountability process initiated by the government. He claimed that the opposition leaders had no interest in the welfare of the people and economic progress of the country.

Mr Qaiser said the government would not only complete its constitutional tenure, but would also come to power again with the support of masses.

About the government’s achievements, he said that Sehat card system had been extended to the entire population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Tarakai said they had initiated various projects in the district. He said they had established Women University Swabi to provide an opportunity to the girls of the district to acquire modern education in different disciplines. He also mentioned the establishment of Gajju Khan Medical College besides other projects that had been completed in the district.

MPA Rangaiz Khan and party’s district president Anwar Haqdad also spoke on the occasion.
