PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday posted an officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, Ms Aamara Khan, as the first-ever female director general of the Peshawar Development Authority.

Ms Aamara (BS-19) was posted on the vacant post by relieving the Peshawar division commissioner of the additional charge with immediate effect, according to a notification issued by the establishment department.

Ms Khan belongs to the 34th Common Training Programme. She has worked on different field and desk assignments in Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

She was also the first ever female officer to be made deputy commissioner of Abbottabad, and has also remained Hazara division’s additional commissioner.

Ms Khan has done LLB, LLM and has also remained scholar of Fulbright Leadership Programme. She was awarded the Best Fellow Award in the Comprehensive Crises Management Course 2016 from the Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Hawaii, US.
