PESHAWAR, Oct 12: The relief cell at the Governor’s Secretariat, Warsak Road, has started receiving donations from various tribal agencies, individuals and institutions.

A convoy of eight trucks loaded with relief goods comprising blankets, tents, quilts, eatable and a number of miscellaneous items was dispatched to Mansehra, said an official handout on Wednesday.

Officers and staff members accompanied the relief goods to help the local administration in the distribution work. The relief items were distributed among the earthquake victims in coordination with the local officials at Mansehra and Battagram districts.

Special arrangements were also made with the aviation division for taking the relief goods to the worst affected areas. Two trucks were sent to Garhi Habibullah. Most of the relief items had been received from Khyber and Bajaur agencies.

Fata Health Directorate has been making arrangements for urgently needed medicines. A sum of Rs5 million has been sanctioned for purchasing medicines.

Three mobile hospitals equipped with surgical operation theatre and beds, also having medicines worth Rs5 million, have already moved into the worst affected areas in close liaison with the district headquarters hospital, Mansehra.
