TOBA TEK SINGH: An eight-year-old girl died after being hit by a speeding van while crossing a road at Gojra on Sunday.

As per Rescue 1122 officials, ArfaKarim (8) was crossing Gojra-Faisalabad road with her parents to reach a banquet hall to attend a wedding.

As she was crossing the road, a speeding van hit her, leaving her critically injured.

She was shifted to the Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds.

BOY RAPED: An 11-year-old boy was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper at Gojra.

Police said the boy who served tea at a tea stall, was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper when he went to deliver tea at his shop.

When other shopkeepers and passersby entered the shop after hearing the boy crying, the suspect immediately fled the scene.

The police are looking into the matter.

ATTACKED: A team of the local irrigation department was attacked and tortured during a raid on suspects involved in water theft.

According to officials, on receiving information that some suspects had breached a part of Dhollar sub-canal at Gojra, an irrigation department team led by Sub Engineer Aslam Dogar reached there.

On seeing the team, prime suspect Ghulam Mustafa and his accomplices, all residents of Chak 449-JB, attacked the officials and subjected them to torture.

The Irrigation department has filed a complaint against the suspects to Gojra Sadar police for registration of a case.
