ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: European Commission Director General Trade Peter Carls has assured that the EC would look into the dumping margins of eight Pakistani exporters of bedlinen disclosed recently.

He was talking to Pakistan’s Commerce Secretary Syed Asif Shah at Geneva, according to a statement issued to media here by the commerce ministry on Wednesday.

Mr Peter assured that the matter would be looked into before sending the recommendation with regard to imposition of final anti-dumping duty to the EC Council of Ministers.

The secretary conveyed to the EC director general trade the reaction of the textile industry of Pakistan. He also highlighted the fact that all the eight sample companies were challenging the anti-dumping duty in the court of Luxembourg.

Mr Shah also informed the DG about the procedural errors made by the EC’s investigation team in determining the dumping margins.
