DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three rare deer were recovered from Bahawalpur on Saturday three days after they were stolen from the Dera Ismail Khan Wildlife Park.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab wildlife departments and the police conducted the joint operation.

The Saddar police station registered a case against five accused in connection with the theft of deer and arrested three of them on the report of sub-divisional officer wildlife Manahel Wahab.

The accused included Allah Nawaz aka Nazi, Bahawal aka Bahawala, Mazhar aka Mazhari, Junaid and Naseeb Khan, all residents of Bahawalpur.

The deer will be shifted from Bahawalpur to Dera Ismail Khan Wildlife Park soon, police officials told the media.

DFO Khan Malik Khan had informed PTI MPA Sardar Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur about the theft of deer, who then contacted the Punjab wildlife department, after which the raid was conducted.
