KARACHI, Jan 21: The Karachi City Government will work for the welfare of the fishermen community and provide basic facilities to their villages.

This was stated by Karachi City Nazim Naimatullah Khan while talking to the Keamari Town Nazim during a visit to Yunisbad, a fishermen village at Hawkesbay.

He called on Keamari Town Nazim Zulfikar Yunis to discuss the civic problems being faced by the fishermen community and exchanged views on beach development schemes.

On this occasion, the Keamari Town Nazim listed a number of problems being faced by the fishermen, including water shortage and sewerage problem.

The Town Nazim also drew the attention of the City Government to the construction of a jetty in Yunisabad to provide the local fishermen with proper berthing facilities.
