Azhar’s plea for speedy relief

LAHORE, Oct 9: Former Punjab governor Mian Muhammad Azhar has expressed his grief over a large number of casualties and injuries due to earthquake. In a statement here on Sunday, he underlined the need for speeding up relief operations. In this hour of trial, he said the whole nation must work together to minimize the losses both in terms of life and material.

Terming the earthquake a big human tragedy, Mian Azhar said the challenge would be met through commitment and dedication.

All of us should seek forgiveness of Allah Almighty as a nation and review our deeds to seek mercy of our creator, he said.

He prayed Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude.

SAHI: Punjab Assembly Speaker Afzal Sahi has expressed deep shock and grief over the heavy loss of human lives and property due to earthquake.

In his message here on Sunday, the speaker prayed may Allah Almighty bless the departed souls with eternal peace and grant the bereaved families courage and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He also prayed for an early recovery of the injured.—APP
