SAHIWAL, Oct 9: A man and his minor son were reportedly kidnapped by their rivals over an old enmity on Saturday night in Chak 69/12-L. Villagers Dilmeer and Rafique were not in good terms. On Saturday night, Rafique and his five armed accomplices in two cars kidnapped Dilmeer and his son Arif Ali.
On the report of Dilmeer’s wife, Shah Kot police have registered a case against the accused.
DEMANDED: Newly-elected district nazim Rai Hasan Nawaz and MNA Rai Azizullah urged the federal government to re-open the passport office in Sahiwal.
They alleged that the provincial agriculture minister and the federal science and technology minister were creating hindrance in the development of Sahiwal district.
They said the prime minister had approved the setting up of a medical college in Sahiwal after the establishment of the export processing zone.
They said that an agricultural college was also approved for which the land had also been earmarked, but provincial minister Arshad Khan Lodhi created hurdles in releasing of funds.
They urged the Punjab chief minister to release funds for the agriculture college so that classes could be started.
LOOTED: Four bandits at ‘sehri’ on Saturday night looted the house of a taxi cab driver in Shadman Town.
Armed bandits entered the house of Azmatullah, held the inmates hostage and escaped after collecting Rs43,000 in cash, 2,000 Saudi riyals, two cell phones and ornaments worth Rs150,000. Azmat had recently come from Saudi Arabia.
Farid Town police have registered a case with no arrest.
