LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Friday met two delegations of party MPAs and assured them that the women MPA would be given their due rights, adding their role in the solution to public problems could not be underrated.

PTI MPAs Momina Waheed, Aasia Amjad, Ayesha Nawaz and Shaheena Karim Khosa in a meeting with the chief minister said Mr Buzdar was moving the province forward with his hard work as backward areas’ development was being given full attention.

The chief minister said the problems of women MPAs’ areas had been noted down and issues would be resolved on a priority basis.

He said the assembly members had been ignored in the past as the previous governments did not give any importance to the assembly. The PTI government, on the other side, had taken steps to provide socio-economic empowerment to the womenfolk, Mr Buzdar said.

He said the PTI government had also strived to end gender discrimination because no society could move forward without the practical participation of its womenfolk in the development process. He said daycare centres had been established in government and private institutions to facilitate working women.

In another meeting with MPAs Mian Muhammad Akhtar Hayat, Chaudhry Liaqat Ali, Saleem Sarwar Jora, Ghulam Ali Asghar Khan, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain, Ahmed Khan, Aminullah Khan, Mamoon Tarar, Muhammad Arshad Chaudhry and Chief Whip Syed Abbas Ali Shah, the chief minister discussed problems relating to their constituencies.

He said constituency-related issues would be solved on a priority basis and no one would be allowed to create hurdles. He said the parliamentarians would be accorded full respect and consultations would be continued to resolve problems of the common man. He also said MPAs’ feasible proposals would be implemented.

Mr Buzdar said the umbrella alliance of the PDM had met its logical end as the cheaters had always deceived the masses.

“Those, who practised politics for corruption are, now, trying to portray themselves as victims,” he said and added the opposition was habitual of deceiving masses but this practice would not work anymore.

The MPAs thanked the chief minister for issuing immediate instructions to resolve their grievances.
