LAHORE, Oct 9: Under instructions from Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, the Punjab Health Department dispatched teams of doctors and medicines for the quake affected areas of Muzaffarabad and Islamabad.

The teams of doctors left for the affected areas from the Jinnah hospital with truckloads of medicines donated by teaching hospitals, including the Services, Mayo and Lahore General hospitals.

The health department has also made all necessary arrangements for treatment of the quake victims in all the hospitals. Beds have been reserved for the victims and doctors have been directed to provide them with all possible treatment free of charge.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr.Tahir Ali Javed, who is supervizing relief operations in the province, directed the administration of hospitals to maintain sufficient stock of medicines and ensure round-the-clock availability of doctors, paramedical staff and ambulances for dispatch to the quake affected areas.
