LAHORE: A woman and her minor son were killed and two others injured when roof of a government school’s quarter collapsed in Kahna area here on Monday.

The incident occurred due to the dilapidated condition of the government quarters located in Kachwana village where a man, Irfan, was living with his family.

A police official said as the roof collapsed, four family members - Bushra Bibi (32), her children Rehman (13), Bisma (5) and Waqas (20) got trapped under the debris.

He said some neighbours immediately called the police which reached the site along with the Rescue 1122.

During operation, the rescue workers recovered all the four people and rushed them to hospital where Bushra and her son Rehman breathed their last. The official said the injured are said to be stable.
