SUKKUR, Oct 8: The price package introduced by the district administration during the holy month of Ramazan contains no relief for people as the rates of commodities are still the same that have been recommended by shopkeepers to the Sukkur DCO.

The prices of ghee, sugar, meat, vegetables and fruits have been increased by 30 per cent, while the price of wheat flour which has been fixed at Rs13 per kilogram, is now being sold at Rs16 per kilogram.

On the other hand, mutton which was sold for Rs180 per kilogram before Ramazan is now being sold for Rs230 per kilogram.

Retail price of fresh milk was fixed from Rs18 to Rs20 per litre, but it is being sold at Rs25 per litre.

Fruit prices were not fixed by the administration but fruit prices have also shot up, as grapes which were sold at Rs50 per kilogram are now being sold at Rs80 per kilogram.

Earlier, Sukkur DCO and the caretaker of the district government, Shafique Ahmed Khoso modified and fixed the rates of essential commodities with immediate effects till Eid.

According to the revised list by the DCO, flour would be sold for Rs13 per kg and a bag of 10kg would be available for Rs128. Maida would be sold for Rs16 per kg, suji for Rs16 per kg, red lentils (local) Rs42 per kg, red lentils (turki) Rs41 per kg, moong (washed) Rs35 per kg, moong (unwashed) Rs34 per kg, moong (Hyderabad) Rs34 per kg, mash (washed) (big) Rs44 per kg, mash (small) Rs40 per kg, Punjab gram pulse Rs28 per kg, Sindh gram pulse Rs26 per kg, gram pulse (imported) Rs24 per kg, mater pulse Rs24 per kg, arher Rs48 per kg, beson Rs30 per kg, chilli longi Rs60 per kg, chilli powder Rs65 per kg, turmeric powder Rs60 per kg, zeera white Rs10 per 50 grams, zeera black Rs14 per 50 gram, black pepper Rs 8 per 50 gram, dal channa Rs10 per 50 gram, kernel basmati old Rs36 per kg, broken basmati Rs20 per kg.
